Google Tripadvisor - The Statue of Freedom and Democracy liberty,

She seems to welcome voyagers and immigrants waiting to embrace the American dream, facing towards the Atlantic Ocean. The statue stands gripping a torch with a raised one while the other holding a book close to her breast with a face so calm it gives the impression of lasting hope. It was given to the United States by the people of France to signify friendship between the two and to commemorate the centennial of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence. It symbolizes freedom and democracy of the country, together with the American flags and other national heritage. One could never miss in travel itineraries to visit the Statue of Liberty in Liberty Island, when in New York.

She stands through time and history to continue to symbolize the strength of her people in protecting their freedom. Be sure to bring the right stuff and wear the right gear during your trip as there are stairs to use to go up and the warm sun to welcome you on your trip. Make sure to allow plenty of your time for your visit as there are long waits of lines in the ferry and the whole trip for the Statue alone could take you 2 to 3 hours when you are on a tour, during summer times. You can ride ferries to get there. You can have a close view of the statue for free.

It's like the American flag - nobody in this world could fail to recognize it or associate it with the United States of America. It is an eternal symbol of democracy gained and kept through the years, to the people of the United States and around the world. It makes you feel alive and free. Going there and being able to come up close standing at its feet looking up leaves you with goose bumps.
